Persian filmfest in Australia to screen ‘A Hairy Tale’

The Persian Film Festival in Australia is to screen Iranian feature ‘A Hairy Tale’.

The 2020 edition of the Persian Film Festival in Australia has been scheduled to screen Iranian movie ‘A Hairy Tale’.

Produced by ifilm’s star of ‘The British Briefcase’, Ali Mosaffa, and written and directed by Homayoun Ghanizadeh, the feature film is about three barbers with different tastes, each passionate about his own interests.

“Danesh is in love with cinema and a well-known actress named Homa. Khan is crazy about the movie ‘Casablanca’ and his barbershop’s license. Shapour will give anything for canned tuna and politics.

The atmosphere in the city becomes oppressive. Could an earthquake hit? Every now and then the body of a dead woman is found near the sea. All of their heads are shaved. As inspector Kiani says, it’s a terrible situation,” a short synopsis for the film reads.

The cast of the film includes many prominent stars such as Ali Nasiriyan, Saber Abar, Babak Hamidiyan, Reza Kianian, Daryoush Movaffaq, and Hediyeh Tehrani.

The film has gone on screen at some global events such as the Transilvania International Film Festival in Romania, the Split International Festival of New Film in Croatia, the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival in Taiwan, and the 35th Warsaw International Film Festival in Poland, where it won the Special Jury Award.

Inaugurated in 2011, the Persian Film Festival emphasizes the richness of Iranian cinema and Persian-speaking filmmakers around the world.

The Persian-speaking films from directors around the world compete in three categories of Feature Films, Short Films, and Documentaries.

The 2020 edition of the Persian Film Festival is slated for December 3-6.
